Re: $55s - Trips Made in Blind
You might consider trying to check raise the flop. With 5 players, you might have a pretty good chance for success with that.
Now that it's heads up on the turn, I like the bet (no free cards, etc). I might check the river and call a bet ... I don't know if I'd call I push. I'm torn on that, but I think I might. |

Re: $55s - Trips Made in Blind
I could see C/R the flop extracting more from the rest of the field.
I'm also okay with check-calling the flop then Check-raising the turn as long as as the turn card doesn't fit the board. Its a dangerous play on this board, but it is an option as long as you can get away from the hand if a bad turn card comes. If the turn comes off as a rag, you may get a nice pot going. Ultimately, it looks like you were able to get a nice pot going anyhow, which is the name of the game. |

Re: $55s - Trips Made in Blind
How about check-raising the flop? You're in the blind, a lot of people are betting here, and you can get some chips in.

Re: $55s - Trips Made in Blind
I dont like check raising the flop b/c it defines my hand too clearly. Its like I have a sign that screams "I have trips here!!!"

[/ QUOTE ] Betting the pot into 4 people when you're first to act screams the same thing, doesn't it? Your goal is to get some money in the pot and keep any draws from getting good odds. The best play isn't usually the most confusing. I really don't understand the calls here unless he had As5s, 9s8s ... something like that. |

Re: $55s - Trips Made in Blind
Why is the river bet so small? Im just wondering, I think you played it fine though. I would have bet more on the river.

It screams "I've got a seven or a flush draw and you all missed the flop". Nobody gives you credit for the set because they would never bet here. |
