I'm going to take 2 doses of this quote for my weak-tight disease and call you in the morning.

Seriously, great post and followup. Thanks for this post.

one possibility for SB is ... Kx suited in spades

hey

i have a small problem with your read...granted you were there and so on, but:

If we are treating SB as a typical unknown (ie. passive tendacies, weakish, a little too loose) then I don't see him check 3-betting a pair of aces medium kicker on the flop, even if he has 2 spades. it's just not typical play from these guys. and, i think you overestimate the frequency that these guys will 3-bet AK out of the blinds.

i just think that the picture you've painted of SB doesn't mesh.

but i do agree with what you've said about reads.

Did you make this read during the hand, or after you saw what he had. B/c you said villian is an unknown, then you were convinced he had a weaker A. If that is your read, then yes I agree, stick by it. But you have to have a note or two on a guy to get this kind of read, imho.

The read was made during the hand. My notes on SB was that he did nothing remarkable. People are treating it as if he just sat down. Nowhere in my post did I say anything even resembling that. I said assume unknown because I think he's pretty standard.

Couldn't SB have A6 and woke up with a flopped 2 pair? The 2nd K pretty much sinks him and our hand would be good, no? That is IF he had A6.
