5 Player Shorthanded VS 10 Player SnGs which is more profitable?
I can't figure out how to do the exact math but here is an example.
Ok, Which is more profitable? 5$ buy in with 10 people. top 3 paying out....1-25$ 2-15$ 3-10$. or 5$ buy in 5 Player short handed SnG. Top 2 payed out. 1-15$ 2-10$. At first i thought full tabled sit and gos are more profitable. My Return on them is about 54% at the 5$ and 10$ level. I started playing shorthanded just for fun the other day and make the money like 80-90% of the time (unless some stupid thing happens like im a 4-1 fav and some guy hits his 5 outter to win Now that i look at the math I think that shorthanded is more $$$$$. I only have to beat 3 ppl to double my money, 4 to triple it. where as full table i have to beat 7 ppl just to double my money, 8 to triple it and 9 to make 5x my money. The math votes for shorthanded correct??? U often make less in shorthanded but u make money alot more often correct? Can someone help me with the math? |

Re: 5 Player Shorthanded VS 10 Player SnGs which is more profitable?
i suck at math, but here's a simple example (based on your numbers): 30% of the 10-seaters 'get paid' 40% of the 5-seaters 'get paid' assuming equal distribution amongst your placings.... 40% ITM @ 10s = +200 over 100 tourneys 56% ITM @ 5s = +200 over 100 tourneys you still need to perfrom better on the 5s'ers, despite the 10% 'head-start' on getting paid -- to make as much. |
