A little later than I originally thought I'd get it up, but as promised here is the windows app to calculate odds. The software does require the .NET Framwork version 1.1 (which is likely already on your computer)

Windows Installer Version Zip file with Windows Installer

Simple Exe Just the executable for those who would rather not run an install

This software was written by me so there are no license concerns. You may redistribute as you see fit. The software was written in Microsoft C# .NET and anyone interested in obtaining the source code can PM me and I will gladly provide it. Hope this helps somebody.

for me, this was just about being a nit

Sorry, what's a nit? (BTW, is there any type of glossary for us newbies with all these acronyms? I work in the Defense Industry, and this is the only community I know of that has close the number of Acronyms Defense does {2+2 still isn't even close })

I made a much smaller one and overlaid it on my talbes.

[/ QUOTE ] I've done the same thing, for Party, Empire, Most of the Cryptos and Primas.... If anyone's interested, I'll post a link to a zip where you can download. (I posted the link in the software section a few months ago, and no one seemed interested....)

I'll post it again here in this link as soon as I can kick the wife off my desk top....

From the flop, he's only calculating the pot odds for 1 more card, while you're adding up the odds for the next 2 cards.

I've read some pretty good explanations for the 1 card approach, but I don't remember it well enough to elaborate. I'm sure somebody else will chime in.

Actually, you'll notice that our numbers are quite similar. It appears that you're just a little less precise than the data that the guy with the uber-amount of outs has described.

With regards to one-card approaches to pot odds calculations, this applies in situations where you're not guaranteed to see a showdown.

Crap... does this mean I have to add a THRID column of outs to my table layouts??? (sorry, been working the buddy list issue I posted... I'll try to upload them by tonight)

IOW, you'd have one set of flop odds for 2 cards to come (if you're pretty sure you're going to the showdown), a second set of flop odds if you're only counting on seeing another card (some one is agressive), and the final river odds???

This is the first I recall seeing only 1 card flop odds.

With 2 to come, he divides the number of unseen cards (47, instead of 46 used with 1 to come) by the number of outs. You take that number and add the odds for the river as well.

David mentioned the reason for each above.
