Ok but what about chip stack and blind level. Would you have pushed this hand pre-flop or folded it?

uh, i told you what i'd do, i'd push. i don't think that was that unclear in the original post of mine. i don't see why you would assume i didn't take your listed factors into account when making my suggestion.

you've got 1200, there's 550 dead in the pot, and you have AK. so somehow you came up with the idea that putting 1/3<x<1/2 of your stack in the middle preflop so that you're nice and committed to the pot was a good idea? i mean, you do start post flop first to act, so you get to make this sort of stop and go move, but you effectively minimized your folding equity with a hand that you'd honestly prefer they just fold than you have to see a flop under these conditions.

Why not push preflop here? You have one of the best starting hands in the game, can win quite a bit relative to the other stacksizes even if he calls, and you're ahead preflop of nearly everything he can have. By your small re-raise, you leave yourself very weak for the rest of the tourney if you don't spike a pair/draw (likely) and have to fold to a push.

Your stack is tiny compared to the blinds (as are every else's), so why not take your chance with one of the best possible starting hands? It's the way to give yourself the best chance to win the tourney.

AK here is an autopush for me, as it is most of the time from lvl 4 on. You need to see all 5 cards and there are only 2 hands that really worry you, everything else that calls is a coinflip or you are way ahead.
