Default Making the min raise part of your game?

Generally, I avoid the min raise like the plauge but I was wondering if anyone had successfully incorporated this into their game.

I think many people generally accept this as thinly veiled method for building pots with monsters. Can it be integrated into your game for various situations like inexpensive turn bluffs, etc?

Anyone have any success with this? Against what type of player would this work best?

I generally only use min.raises for one purpose: info. By semi-revealing your hand, you allow your opponent to reveal his. I rarely use it to get value or to bluff. Here is an example (a hand I actually played yesterday)

I raise 4BB on button with KK, BB re-raises to to 12BB, I call.

Flop comes Q J Xr,

He bets 1/2 pot, I min.re-raise.

Now, if my opponent is still in the hand to see a turn, I can be pretty sure I am beat.

Sometimes if I have position, and am bet into on the turn, and I have a decent hand and have no idea what he has (draw, monster, bluff etc.) I will min-raise and then check behind on the river

I find this line is very effective against people who bet draws, the key is you need to fold to a turn 3-bet, and often fold if he comes out betting on the river

I think flop minraise is very good for getting value when a real raise will get a fold.

thats almost the only time I use it. that and to snap off continuation bets.

Minraises are not bad for bluffs on YYx boards (then you bet the turn) or bluff turn checkraises against 2+2'ers and the like.
