Please pray for my friend, serious real world content
I don't post here too much, mainly lurk, but anyway. Hey everyone. Some of you might know that I'm in the US Navy, others may not. Either way, there was an accident on my ship the other day in which one of my friends and shipmates lost both his legs below the knee. He has a wife and a young daughter. He's in his mid twenties and his name is Alexander. If you could please pray for him, or if you're not religous keep him in your thoughts. It's times like these that complaining about runner runner on the river seems trivial.

Re: Please pray for my friend, serious real world content
The last update I heard is that he was in critical but stable condition. Due to an unbelievably fast reaction by pretty much the entire crew, we got him off the ship in a helo in about 20 minutes. It sound like a long time, but it was extremely fast given the circumstances. Luckily we're all heavily trained in first response for injuries like that. The people that were with him and first on the scene are pretty traumatized as well. I didn't see it and I can't even imagine what it would be like to see that. We all know that being in the military things like this can happen, although you'd expect it to be due to an enemy attack or something like that. One of the positives given the situation is that the Navy will take great care of him and give him and his family all he needs to rehabilitate.

He should buy a t-shirt that says either "It's just a flesh wound" or "Tis but a scrach."
