[ QUOTE ] No, that was a flush, the lighting isn't very good in the picture. I thought he had won the hand on the bottom left with the flopped set of 4's. [/ QUOTE ] Yup, I flopped a set, he flopped the flush, no help on further streets... I'm starting to think that this is rigged..... Regards, Woodguy [/ QUOTE ] poker is rigged! Re: WPT scratch & win tickets in Alberta
[ QUOTE ]
Hello All, Thought this belonged here. Saw this at the local convience store so I had to buy one. Notice on the left side that you can win a seat at a WPT event, I will post the picutres of the winners if the WCLC (Western Canada Lottery Corporation) publishes them, they should be good for some comedy. I scratched the card, didn't get the seat and was rivered 3 times! Just like real life. The Alberta Provincial government took in more money from gambling than the Nevada State Government in 2003. That is real dollars, not per capita, and yes that is adjusted for exchange. I cannot find my source right now, but I read it in a credible local newpaper a couple of months ago. I really think the WPT should start adding to the prize pool of their events if they continue to expand their other revenues streams. Especially if they want to continue with their most unfair policy of no-deals, seeing as right now, its not thier money that is being dealt with. Regards, Woodguy [/ QUOTE ] funny stuff, so they are not available in US? |

Re: WPT scratch & win tickets in Alberta
i've played this in Virginia. It pretty much looks the same, except you get 3 sets of hole cards for each board. The ticket would suck out the exact same way each time you lost, not very creative. http://www.valottery.com/scratchers/...6&subloc=1 |

Re: Here\'s another one, scratched
Hand 1: Fold preflop. This is the first hand of the card. Why are you pushing with 32s? Look for a better spot.
Hand 2: Tough to get away from a flopped set. You played this one fine, all the money was going in. Hand 3: NH. I dunno what villain was doing in there on the turn after you raised PF. Good value bet on the turn to try and let him catch his straight draw. Hand 4: Fold this flop. Once villain shows that he likes it, you need to get away from it. You have nothing here. Hand 5: Short-stacked as you were, you needed to go all-in here, but he got lucky by turning the flush. And you make trips on the end just to add insult to injury. I don't think you played your A-game on this card. Try reading HOH2 a few more times, then hit the Qwik-E-Mart again and get yourself another card. |

Re: WPT scratch & win tickets in Alberta
Wow, this is sweet. But five bucks for a scratch-off ticket? I know it's CAN$, but that's still pretty steep. I don't think anything in NY is north of $2 (but it's been a while since I've checked).
I wonder how many seats they plan on giving away, and how the $5K and $15K events are handled. ETA: Apparently there are indeed $5 scratch-off tickets in New York. |
