Default Bad AA play?

How would you play this?

Posting from memory ...

Blinds at 50/100
Dealt to Hero (approx t900) AA
Hero is in EP, raises to 300
Two callers - Villain1 (approx t800) and Villain2 (approx t1200)
Flop comes with J J K
Hero checks
Villain1 checks
Villain2 checks
River 8

Hero?

I'll post results for further analysis later.

I'd yell at the dealer for forgetting to deal the A on the turn.

Umm... Push and it's not close?

Push preflop, push the flop... I think this is trying too hard to get chips with AA. FPS stuff.

I also agree with this, I can sort of see the reason for not pushing with AA and 9bb, but I do anyway, just because people don't expect you to.

Right. I was trying to play for value.
When the JJ came on the flop, as I was in EP I checked to suss out if someone had hit the set.

I pushed the turn.
Was called by both and Villain2 showed the set - winning with a full-house in the end).
Pretty good trap.

So, you think the best way to have avoided this was push PF?

Well, I mean, t300 isn't terrible, I guess, but it's just a bit fishy, especially with me just push/folding all the time with 9x BB.

Also, if people push into limpers or minraisers, you could always try that.

But I like pushing preflop.

Does the position affect this for you?

I think my biggest problem was I was the EP. From that position, I'm pretty convinced now that a push was the best move.

But from LP?

I agree it depends on your image, if you shoved several times already raising to t300 looks fishy. In your hand you did catch your fish though, two of them even.

I'd push the flop against two players I think. Against one I'd probably give him a chance to bet first and push the turn if he didn't.
