Re: Anyway I can protect this hand ?
There's a lot of good threads recently about waiting for the turn. It might be worth checking them out. Basically, its fairly overused at this level.

[/ QUOTE ] I've been re-reading SSH in preparation for moving up to 2/4, the call flop/raise turn line is something mentioned that I've never really seen a spot to use at the tables. One to put to the back of my mind as a "just in case" I guess! Mat |

Re: Anyway I can protect this hand ?
IIRC the call flop/bet turn is when you have a decent hand that is very vulnerable. You call the flop and then bet the turn if it's safe. Here, your hand isn't that vulnerable.
(But then again, I'm a newbie) |

Re: Anyway I can protect this hand ?
I would re-read the chaper in SSH while paying close attention to the pot size, the flop texture, and position of the player betting or raising. Waiting to protect your hand is usually used when the pot is quite large on the flop and/or when your hand is quite vulnerable to numerous cards that could come on the turn. This is an unraised pot with 6 players, and your equity is huge. You played it well.
