Re: Monster or bluff?
[ QUOTE ]
The biggest tell I have ever seen is when a player picks his cards off the table when he is pondering to call you. It always means he will fold If this player happens to be an alpha-male you can goad him into calling by simply pointing this tell out to him [/ QUOTE ] I remember that hand, you worked that poor bastard like a tool, and you worked him hard. |

Re: Monster or bluff?
In my home game, players taking a long time is always a sign of weakness. When I bet and someone takes a long time to call the turn, and a brick comes on the river, I know I have them.

Re: Monster or bluff?
What do you guys think of someone who pushes... and when you look up them, they are looking right at you and give you a big smile?

Re: Monster or bluff?
Strong means weak. Weak means strong. Any look/stare at you for a length of time after a big bet is usually weakness.
The look (assuming it's more of a stare and not a look and look away) and smile is representing strength. Barring other information to the contrary, it means weakness. |

all the ones you asked were in there [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but you need to think outside the box!! Obviously these are the most basic tells in Caro's book. However, I don't know how well my opponents understand these tells or know of them -- so I made a poll. From this poll, I found out which tells everybody knows (shaky hands), and which tells people are less sure about (talking during hand). I plan on using this information. You should too. |

Re: Monster or bluff?
I personally like the Farha tell Moneymaker Sr. pointed out: when Moneymaker would go all-in against Farha and Farha was shuffling his chips, you knew he was about to fold.
That's one of the most profitable tell in Poker! |
