Clearly the answer is get your buddy Worm to go in first, show up later, then pull out all the old school tricks. Stuff that would never play in the city. Signalling, chip placing, trapping. You even run the old best hand play. You can probably crack the game just as quickly straight up, but there's no risk in that room. Now, some people might look down at Worm's mechanics, call it immoral. But as Canada Bill Jones said, "Its immoral to let a sucker keep his money." Like they teach you in One-L, "Caveat Emptor, pal."

Well, hypothetically lets just say you did go to their home game. Lets say that you started cleaning up at it, night after night. Would you keep playing then?

Thats the analogous situation.

Unless OP sucks at poker. OP, you don't suck at poker, do you?

Your in a well known casino in Las Vegas playing 80-160 or thereabouts and a
fellow player(who you have never played with before) asks you if you would like
to play in his weekly home game tomorrow night. You can't bring your own cards
because they already have them and they have their own dealer(but you can't see
him) so you won't even have to deal. Would you play?

If you would, I equate this too playing online.

[/ QUOTE ]

My friend, if you did not want to play in my home game, you should have just told me. No need to get worked up about it. You owe me $4500 from our go-kart transaction, and I figured that you could win some of it back at my home game.

Your post makes me very sad. I am starting to wonder if you are the shrewd businessman I originally believed you to be.

This is a terrible comparison. Lets think about your example...

Some person asks you to come play at their home game...not unusual really. However your example becomes odd when you are informed that you cannot bring your own cards and that they have a dealer you cannot see.

If you are told not to worry about cards I would be worried. I mean, why bring this up during the invite unless they are marked. That is obviously what you are implying here...that because they don't want you to bring a deck there is something odd going on. Of course this has nothing to do with online poker because it is impossible to bring your own cards. And the reason you would be concerned that they don't want to use your cards is b/c they have premarked the cards and all know what it is. Are you saying that online cards are marked and some people can read these marks? Because if you are saying that you are an idiot and if you are not then this doesn't hold up.

Secondly the invisible dealer. Ok, now I am assuming you don't actually mean the dealer is invisible (since I am still unaware of any invisibility cloaks like Harry Potter) and that he is somehow hidden. Of course I would be very suspicious of this. I mean, is the dealer hideously deformed and thus cannot be seen? Probably not, they are hiding him so he can manipulate the cards. In online cards they don't have the dealer behind a curtain because there is no real dealer. At least in this situation your analogy can connect a little bit.

However, where your analogy falls completely short is: the reason it is suspicious is because you set it up to be suspicious. Have you EVER been at a real game where the dealer was invisible? Have you ever been told at the time of invite that you were not permitted to bring cards? These are unusual and weird circumstances and that is what makes the situation suspicious. It doesn't fly online because none of these things can remotely occur.

Besides, if you think online poker is rigged then you should stop playing immediately. I don't go to places I think I will be ripped off.

I've played poker against people who talked to invisible friends. Does that count?
