Doesn't look like you were running too hot either.

Meh...

That's my old database.

After that new database with 22k hands at 2.3 BB/100.
Last 16k hands containing nice 230 BB downswing (today I'm finaly up from that nice little hole).

First big downswing I've had in $2/4... only in bigger limits before

It would be pretty scary to be at 5+ BB/100 while running bad. Start playing 400/800 or something. Now.

The best player in the world isn't winning 5.2 BB/100 in those games while running sub-par IMO (or even running meh).

Whether you were running hot at winning showdowns really isn't relevant as I don't know of any business establishments that require you to spend won showdowns in exchange for goods and services. You won more money than you 'should have' during this sample, I don't really care enough to debate that so chose to accept or deny that as you will. I'm not calling you a bad person or even a bad player, I'm sure you play very well, but not to the point that those games are actually worth the amount that your t-test will tell you they are.

Whatever though, this is a really boring argument and I'm going out for dinner.

The problem that I see is that your showdown stats are similar to mine but your VPIP is 7% higher. You are winning more hands in general, from what I can tell.

I pay a LOT of attention to pot size. I think I won exactly my fair share of hands, but I chase and call in more in big pots. That accounts for my higher VPIP and the money, I think.

This is NOT the only indicator of how well you're running. A whole lot of other things can contribute to a hot run. Winning more than your share of big pots, getting less than your share of expensive 2nd bests, taking down more than your share of pots when you have weak, or no hand. There's just a lot of more subtle things that stats don't easily show, which is why its so hard to tell if you really are running good or bad, and just how good or bad.

Also, with your very high VPIP (2+2 standards), and high went to showdown, your won$ at showdown WILL always be lower than most of the rest of us. hard to say just how low, but i bet 50 probably isn't too far off.
