Default AJo - SB defense

Just a typical hand that I suck at. Villian is something like 60/20 over the past 60 hands or so. I don't have a real read atm though, just the numbers, since I'm in my typical poker multi-table fog.

Party Poker (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villian opens on the button, Hero 3-bets, BB folds and villian calls.

Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, villian raises, hero...

Read is helpful.

Either folds or 3-bets and leads the turn.

I leave the decision up to you... what do you think is right?

Do you really have a read on all of your opponents while multi-tabling? On a good day I do, but...

I think this hand type is one of my biggest problems. I think my biggest problem in poker atm is myself. I think I bluff too much and try to pick off bluffs too much.

I think folding is right. I chose option number 3 though, due to a moment of indecision on my part.

These hands happen all the time and I think I play them wrong a lot.

edit: Please don't read anything extra into the above self-analysis though and don't reflect your thoughts into your advice in my hand. I am really trying to re-evaluate a large section of my game and it involves hands exactly like this. I think these hands are tough - and they happen a TON.

What is wrong with calling and checkfolding the turn UI? You could easily have 7.5 outs here and the pot has grown pretty large. You also might get a free river card.

I'm glad someone else said it because I was wondering if a little peel here would be so bad. I like one.

Let me double check the hand. I don't think I like a peel here, but I'll explain more after I finish playing.

Call and fold the turn UI.

If you catch a flush draw on the turn and miss the river, you should probably see a showdown if the guy's aggressive. That's far away though, and it really depends on what sort of stuff falls.

I don't like 3-betting or folding on the flop, call is best. I'd fold if the pot was smaller.

I called the flop as mentioned. Turn was 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I check / folded.

Maybe I don't play as poorly as I think I do. I really need to start posting more hands though - there was a lot of tricky ones yesterday and I am being really hard on myself lately.

I'm SO glad I decided to reread Feeney. It's been a few years and after reading 30 pages last night I know it's the perfect book for me right now. I beat myself everytime I play, even when I win.
