Re: AK hand level 1
I'd have just called the flop, hoping for either someone further down the field to raise so I could push, or at the worst, take a card off, most of the deck is safe for you here, just spades that you fear. Unfortunately one came.. but now the pot is huge on the turn, and I wouldn't really know what to do here, probably fold and hate it because I can't believe that one of the 5 (?) or so in there won't have the flush here..

I fold. I also would raise pre-flop with ak.

Re: AK hand level 1
The call preflop is fine, no need to build a massive pot here

Re: AK hand level 1
[ QUOTE ]
Make a real raise on the flop... [/ QUOTE ] I think the flop raise is okay. It's a little more than 1/2 pot to the remaining players, and I think you can't really expect all of them to hang around for that. It would be a different story if numerous players had already limped in, but given that they are facing the pot after schwza's bet with nothing already in I think it should be reasonably effective, usually. Given that they have all called, I find it difficult to believe that there isn't a flush out there. |

Make a real raise on the flop... [/ QUOTE ] yeah, i winced a little when i read the hh. i was worried a raise to, say, 230 over a minbet would look too scary and i'd lose marginal hands. in retrospect, i do like a bigger raise - somebody's usually going to want to go to the felt on that flop. |

Re: AK hand level 1
even if there isn't a flush out there, he can easily be freerolled by the A spades.. giving him split-at-best potential.
I lose all love for this hand after the turn, and treat it like the traitor it has become. |
