Re: Best place to eat in Tunica?
Horseshoe snack bar - you can order from the card tables. Dont forget to tip the brush for taking care of your order. Try a bowl of the chicken salad. Sounds wierd, but it is good.

Interstate BBQ off of 3rd St and on the way to the casinos is good. [/ QUOTE ] Anyone who stops and gets out of his car anywhere on "3rd St on the way to the casinos" has lost his freaking mind. |

Re: Best place to eat in Tunica?

But the best ribs are at the Blues City Cafe on Beale Street. [/ QUOTE ] This is the correct answer. And it's not even close. Rendezvous = fewer ribs for more money. My Dad and I went there a little over a year ago. Had an order each...and a beer or two. It was NOT very satisfying. We went to Blues City cafe immediately afterwards and ate again. Not only are the quantities better....but it's just better ribs anyway. (still don't understand why everyone goes so wacky for Rendezvous...when Blues City Cafe is so much more visible and is obviously so much better). In Tunica - Horseshoe buffet is easily the best. Gold Strike buffet is decent but not worth going out of your way for. Grand buffet does NOT impress me. The steak-house at the Gold Strike is actually quite good as well (ate there with the lady-friend a couple months ago). The wait at Binion's steak-house was over an hour and we were REALLY starving. But next time we plan on trying the Binion's steak-house. Disappointed they don't have the asian restaurant at Horseshoe anymore. They have replaced it with 'Nawlins' which looks to have a pretty decent menu too (obviously cajun/crawfish/new orleans influenced...but I believe the menu wasn't just limited to that). I'm also a big fan of the Wendy's which is attached to that gas-station at the entrance to the drive that takes you down to Horseshoe/gold-strike. The quality of the food from the Wendy's in Tunica is very competitive with other Wendy's restaurants all around the country. Try the double-combo with great-biggie fries. |

Re: Best place to eat in Tunica?
I am a big fan of the $9.99 one pound prime rib at the Atrium Cafe in the Goldstrike.
I had a meal at the Horsehoe buffet once but I must have been there on a bad day. I couldn't tell much difference between it and the Gold Strike. I actually liked the buffet at the Grand but have only eaten there once. The Grand's poker room has free Nathan's Famous Hotdogs for those of you who savor the flavor. the best buffet that I have eaten in Tunica was a Friday afternoon at Sam's Town. I was starving so that always makes things taste better and we did the classic buffet angle shoot, pay the lunch price just before they start bringing out the seafood. Caesar's IN is wise to that angle, they close the buffet and then reopen after the seafood is out, tight ass buffet NITS. |

Re: Best place to eat in Tunica?
If you are referring to South Memphis, being brave is one thing, being stupid is another. We laugh at the fish for being in games that are to tough for them.
Just like that girl down in Aruba, She forgot where she was and went off on her own with strangers, if She had stayed with her group, She would most likely be alive. You can do that kind of thing in the suburbs and small cities but a young girl in a foriegn country needs to stay with her group. I may get flamed for that statement but I stand behind it. If you are a fat white guy (like me) from a small town, you don't have any business in rough neighborhoods, after dark. |

Re: Best place to eat in Tunica?
There is another Interstate BBQ on Stateline Road. Personally, I think it sucks but each to his own. If you do stop, just make sure you park close to the resturant and do not piddle around. It is really not that bad.
I had breakfest at the Atrium Cafe and my girlfriend had lunch. It was very good. I got it comped as well. The service is iffy but it could have just been that one server. Who knows. I thought the Gold Strike buffet was better than Sam's Town. I would not pay for either one of them but they are easy to get comped. The Gold Strike had more old South food. It just depends on what you are in the mood for. |
