I would definitely lead the turn, for 1500-2k ish.

Given your position I dont lead the FLOP, but after everyone gave you the green light and a brick hits the turn, make your move for the pot. What's stopping you?

I think you should call here and either make a blocking bet on the river or check fold. I would have made a small lead at the flop(1000) and shut down if called.

The thing stopping you is that you're not going to get called by a hand that doesn't beat you. Check call and bet 1400 at the river(I think this is the best line).

I think that's best too.

That's not what I did at the time though....

Hero checks, MP2 bets t2400, Hero calls t2400.

Final Pot: t9600

Opps. forgot to convert results, Villian had Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for second pair and flush draw.

I *almost* clicked fold and cursed myself for not betting.....good thing he was bigger donk than me.

I almost felt dirty dragging that pot.

I didn't like what I did, regardless of the result.

I don't like betting this flop, so many scary things can happen, and checking *may* get a worse hand to pay you off later, but I like leading the river instead of check/calling.

Woodguy

My main goal in betting is to win the pot. There are valuable chips out there, so what if no worse hand calls. It's better than risking a free card and facing a river bet.

I don't get why leading out on the turn, and then check-calling the river isn't the best line. That way you charge draws for sure, and get them to bluff at the end with missed draws.

I just don't remember any situations when check calling on the turn with a made hand, and then betting out on the river is the right play.

Just want to understand

Wouldn't this really depend on the guy doing the betting? That's the main thing that I would use when deciding what to do. Is he the type of guy to try and take command of an orphaned pot? Is he the type would like to checkraise his big flops? Is he the type to play A-little suited...maybe afraid of his kicker too? You should have a good enough read on this player by the time the blinds are up to 400 to use that information.
