Default Free Showdown? Induce a bluff? I am clueless.

Hand at Bodog tonight, 1/2 6 max. BB seems loose passive but I've only sat for 20 or so hands so not too sure.

I catch QQ in the CO. 1 limper, I raise, BB calls and limper calls.

Flop is Ah Ks 7d, pot 6.5 SB. This sucks.
BB checks, limper checks, I bet. BB calls, limper folds.

Turn is a 2c, pot is 4 BB. BB checks, I ???

A buddy of mine said bet to get a free showdown and maybe fold a better hand. If raised, fold.

Another guy said to check behind because there's not much that you beat that he calls with and you might get him to bluff the river with something sucky, either way you see a showdown for 1 BB.

I guess the third option is to check behind and fold to a river bet, but I pretty much hate that.

Thoughts?

Bet and bet the river. BB is probably drawing near dead, and if he'll call and may bet into if he spikes a random pair.

If hes passive and weak, lets not get cheeky like we would a TAG. Lets make him make mistakes.

We win/lose the same 1 BB by betting now and taking a free showdown as we do by checking now and hoping to induce a river bluff (from a missed gutshot or a smaller PP). Betting now might fold a weak king, and probably gets one more bet from a gutshot draw, so that makes me lean towards betting now.

At least one person votes for betting the river as well. I guess we only need to get called by a worse hand 1/7 times?

Since you have position, bet.
If he raises the turn, fold.
If he bets out the river, fold.

I'd check the river as well unless you believe him capable
of folding the K.

This guy seemed pretty loose/passive and these kind of guys don't seem to fold if they have any piece of the flop (even moreso in 6 max). If he's got a gutshot though he calls for sure.

Maybe it's not in situations like this, maybe I'm seeing monsters bc I've been running bad on and off but I feel like I get my ass kicked consistently when I value bet 3rd pair.
