cap the flop in hopes villian leads turn so i can raise again? i think i read on here that capping the flop for a free card on the turn is pointless, as most of the time when you cap the flop villian will lead again on the turn. i'm not looking for a free card here, obviously.

or call the flop 3bet to ensure a turn raise? i only fear QQ, expect KK (perhaps A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]). villian is 47/15/2.1.

calling 3 and raising the turn would be my standard play...against a manaiac I'd keep my foot on the gas. (whispers: although I'm no expert)

I like the way you played it. I think a lot of players will go into call down mode after you 3bet preflop and cap the flop unless you're beat. Calling the 3bet and popping the turn maximizes the hands when you are ahead (which will be most of the time). Also, if he's really laggy and would play it that way with AKd, you can charge his draw an extra SB.
