Noob question
To preface: I have never played a 6-max table before. I do play quite a bit of limit however, full ring though. Lately I have been playing STT. However, with Party's reload bonus to clear I want to see where my game is at. I have read Small Stakes LHE, so I have pretty solid fundamentals. I beat the $1-2 full ring game for 3.4BB/100. Is there anything important I should know before making the transition to short-handed. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Noob question
Play more agressive, be ready for the swings, play the player sounds very "WPT" but is true, you must adjust.

Re: Noob question
For me the biggest thing was not adjusting starting hands. I figured that playing SH you have to play more & weaker hands, which is totally untrue. A solid, aggressive rock can do well at SH.
After you become experienced & get a good feel for the game, you can add in more hands. I would also shy away from stealing like crazy until you have a good feel for SH steal play & blind defense. Basically, play tight & super aggressive & I think you will do fine. |
