I also forgot to mention that the player was loose/aggressive, and my note on him included "capable of making a big bluff". He had bluffed me out of a $2000 pot earlier, and showed Q5 offsuit, for Q high. I still really misplayed it, but I just wanted to give you an idea of why I called.

After he 3-bets your ass on the flop... you really need to be thinking.

This hand plays itself if you raise more on the flop. But since you didn't, his 3-bet could mean anything.

But what hands to LAG's call 5xBB with, and then 3-bet a weak raise on a flop like that with? 46,56,67,68 are the ones that come to mind for me. Maybe A6s/99.

Turn call is bad. River call is atrocious.

I would have raised more on the turn to 500 than if he comes over the top you can be almost 100% your beat.

I give it up on the turn, assuming his 78 hit, or he already had me beat.

You sir should not be playing 10/20. im sorry if you get offended. But you will save money by me telling you the truth.

[/ QUOTE ]you sir, need to STFU. thx.

[/ QUOTE ]

lol, I was thinking the same thing, but as long as he came to 2+2 for help, he deserved the help

[/ QUOTE ]

And i Gave him a good advice. I still dont think if he has this player as good, that he should be playing 10/20. why not play 3/6 or 5/10. study hard and when you are up to it play 10/20.

Maybe i was a little harsch, Im sorry for that.

But denying that this was one of the worst hands i have seen, wouldn't help freeran.

But my apologies to you freeran. if you got offended. You might be a great player but from this post it seems like you have alot to learn, then 10/20 is not a good place to be.

I would say, fold to 3 bet on flop. Turn call was bad. River call was worse. We all make bad plays man, don't beat yourself up too much, just remember, 3 bet out of position means strength. Especially in NL.

OHHH, I just remembered a saying, when playing NL, with one pair, on a paired board, play a SMALL pot. Calling the flop would be a fine play. Then see how turn goes.

While I agree w/ the general comments in this thread, the King on the river did not change anything.

Raise more preflop/call flop and see what happens on turn. I will usually go with the former, curious as to what others do.

16...17 later this month(shhh)... started with $50 about a year ago, now I'm at just over 10K (after a huge losining day yesterday). Never cashed in more money after the 1st fifty. (Ive played dumb @ $10/20 NL, but I have potential lol)

And im sorry to repeat myself but because im the only one thinking or atleast saying that you shouldn't be playing 10/20(yet) i want to say it again to really get threw to you.

I know how hard it is to lose money at a limit and then just say well atleast i tried it, now i can go back to my normal limit. But you must.

And your BR are very very small. If you are trying to make money on poker in the long run. without taking big risks. you should consider playing 2/4 or 3/6.

But i really need safety when im playing. thats just me.

Maybe you know all this, maybe you where just taking a chance at 10/20 from you normal 3/6 or 5/10 game. maybe you have already gone back to your safety limits.

But if thats not the case and you are still gonna play 10/20 with 10k BR, i really want you to reconsider.

thats all, GL to you. I hope that i havent come off as a total jerk.

cause thats not me, well maybe a little
