"Well...........I play cards." people...Where? me...On the internet. people...All day? me...pretty much. people... -"for money? Like real money?" -"what if you lose?" -"How can you afford that?" -"Do you just use a credit card or what?" -"Do you win any money? Can you get it into your bank account...like actual money...that you can spend?" -"Can you really make any money doing that?" -"Do you play like other people and stuff?" -"How do you play 8 games at once? I can't even figure out what's going on in one of them." -"Can anyone actually make a living doing that?" -"Does your fiancee mind you gambling? She really lets you do that?" -"So if you ever win there do you take the money and play like tournaments and stuff?" -"Do you think you'll be on TV someday?" -"Have you ever played Phil Helmuth? If you ever do I hope you win because he's a xxxxing baby. I can't stand that guy." -"I was watching the World poker tour yesterday and...." -"Poker on the internet...I don't understand? -look of concern..."I hope you don't lose too much." I now just tell people I'm unemployed until I can get a work permit and that I just try to keep busy during the day. ps...8-tabling 40-50 hours a week sort of sucks...like in a boring kind of way. It reminded me of both my own struggles with communicating to people my status as a poker player and that I study mathematics. I'd also like to add that my "State of the Forum" post has gone down as the second most misunderstood post in my time at these forums.
