AA with action -- how many raises?
Only been at the table for about an orbit so not much of a read on villain. I don't think I've tried a limp/re-raise, before, but did here.
Party Poker 3/6 (8 handed) Preflop: AliasMrJones is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. AliasMrJones limps, 5 folds, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Check, check, AliasMrJones bets, call, fold. Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, AliasMrJones bets, SB raises K? Set? What's the plan? |

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
I think when most people read "A A limp", they probably stop reading right there.

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
SB has no idea how good your hand is, but I still think I would just call.
River checkraises tend to mean a pretty good hand at Party 3/6. You wouldn't think that river card gave him two pair, but some people complete fairly loosely from the small blind, and also he could have been slowplaying before that. Hopefully, instead, he's just got KJ or is making a play with something worse. |

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
I absolutely love that half of the players on Party limp preflop with AA and then slow down after one postflop raise. I love it. It wouldn't shock me if SB had the other AA. The only thing that would be sweeter is if BB took it down with 85o.

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
yea, you have not nearly enough information to fold this here. Due mostly to your lack of aggression PF. You gotta call, this hand sucks.

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
Not to say I've never done it, but since you have basically no read, the villan here could turn over almost any 2 cards.
I call the raise and expect to win about 50% of the time here. Doc |

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
I'm quite certain his question is whether to call or 3-bet...not whether to call or fold. I think just calling is best here though...I agree.

Re: AA with action -- how many raises?
The only time I find myself limp reraising is when there is a maniac to my left that will raise any 2 cards if there is no raise to him, but tends to just cold call if there is a raise in before. That way you can sometime trap late position players that 3 bet trying to isolate him.
Another thing is that you should be stealing the blinds so often that the BB is calling a lot and giving you value when you raise AA. Unless I have note that says "Moron bluff raises river", the I just call instead of 3betting. |
