What a title to conceal a bad-beat post. Gotta bet that flop unless you know that CO will bet when checked to every single time.

Re: KK hand was there a way to keep opponent 3 in longer?
Well, I never check-raise a set when there are obvious draws on the board. I would have made a $15 bet at the flop, just like I would with AK.
After that, you're check-raise plan seems to have worked well for you. You were able to get all your money in with a caller before any of the draw cards hit. Other than the check-raise, this looks ok to me. If villain caught a flush or straight, its just a bad beat. I would not recommend betting less on any street just to get a second caller to come along to the river. Giving guys the correct pot odds to call really isn't a good idea just to make the pot bigger when you're ahead. |

Re: KK hand was there a way to keep opponent 3 in longer?
well i dont really care about the beat because it wasnt that bad at all i was probably only 75% to win on the turn. Just wondering if a bigger raise on the flop would have hooked in the SB or if my line was about as much as I was getting out of him. CO's postflop AF is over 9 with 400ish hands with him so I was fairly sure he'd bet if checked to
