3 handed at Final Table
Opponent has made some bad calls and big bluffs and wound up down to 400 before he tripled up AI with a8 and then went on a tear, He has been raising everytime I'm bb and I havent had a hand to call or play back at him. Who likes taking a stand here? Payouts btw are, 1st 2430 , 2nd 1620, 3rd 972.

[ QUOTE ]
Edit: I wasn't putting more chips in without improving. [/ QUOTE ] but you did. You put your whole stack in with a rag ace. If he calls the re-raise on the flop.. its highly likely he is ahead of a rag ace. If he calls the 750 raise on the flop.. he is almost certain to call the jam on the turn, and the liklihood of your A high being ahead here is almost null. |

Re: 3 handed at Final Table
If you want to make a play here, why not go all in preflop?

Re: 3 handed at Final Table
I did improve, secondly there is still a chance he folds a hand like 88 or 99 here if I push turn, it is not that small of a bet. Yes I did improve, and pushing in on the turn is not what im concerned about because I will push in that spot 100% of the time. My main concern is the flop play.

Re: 3 handed at Final Table
i don't think an open ender is a good enough improvement here. you're risking all your chips and potentially $1500 when you are very likely behind. you are nowhere near this desperate at this point, wait until you have something stronger to play back at him with.
edit: just saw your above post. i think the flop is fine, though maybe you could've led out or reraised a more significant amount. if you're pushing anyways, no reason not to do it on the flop. i hate the turn push after he called your play on the flop though. |

Re: 3 handed at Final Table
Moving in preflop here is ludicrous as we are still pretty deep. I knew he was going to bet 100% of flops and its both less risky and more profitable to try and outmaneuver him on the flop. On the turn I don't really think I can consider folding when I still have a decent chance of him laying down an underpair to a jack and my ace and straight draws are most likely clean.

Re: 3 handed at Final Table
you think he calls 1200 on the flop but folds 1700 on the turn?
come on Sir.. play the player. You say you *improved* to a straight draw.. with almost zero FE, willingly going to showdown with this hand is not g00t. Also you say the stacks are too deep to jam pre flop? I disagree entirely. against players like this, it figures to be the best move... unless you intend to jam on the flop, which would also be ok. |

Re: 3 handed at Final Table
Yes I think there was still a decent chance he folds on turn, in fact would it surprise you if I said I think he would have folded if HE didn't improve. Anyway this thread has gone off track from where I wanted it to go. I was looking to flop an ace and let him bet it for me or get a nice ragged flop without draws and make a play at him.
