I love Pokerstars Support!!
I know we've had this topic before, but it never ceases to amaze me how friendly they are, and how they answer anything. Last night I logged on at 1030 and played three $105 + 9 SNG's and won all 3. I sent them an email asking them if I had a better chance of winning 3 SNG's in a row or getting struck by lightning. Here was the response:
Hello Todd, Your situation isn't as uncommon as you might think. I certainly wouldn't compare winning three sit n go's in a row to a bolt of lightning, but if you really want an analogy, I'd compare it to a trifecta in a 6-horse races. The odds of doing so are a 0.465% chance. A bolt of lightning is much higher :-) However, your incredible play should be something to be proud of, not anything to question. Re: I love Pokerstars Support!!
I assume they calculated those odds based on the players in each of your sit-n-go's all being exactly equally skilled.

What Adam didn't tell you is that he immediately switched you to lose mode right after he sent you that message.

Re: I love Pokerstars Support!!
yeah. that definitely rocks. and stars support defin itely rocks too.
when I was first starting I once took first in 6 out of 7 $5+0.50 SNG's. I was pretty sure that was just a lot of good luck...but it's hard to get out of the mode of "Look at Me!!! I just learned this silly game and I'm already a Poker God!!" Naturally...I haven't had too many stretches quite like that since then. |
