It absolutly can. If you steal only with AA, your BB/ attempt will be "huge". The more hands you add, the lower the avarage BB/attempt.

The BB/opportunity however will increaqase up until a certain point...

search the 'recent archives' for the article "think about shania" and you might start to question that assumption.

if you only steal with AA you will make fewer BB/attempt than you think because ppl with half a brain will VERY rarely defend against you. playing other hands get you action for your AA, and the fact that you play the good hands gets you folding equity on the high card flops. obviously there's an equilibrium point there where hands stopp adding to the overall profitablility (the extra action they create is not sufficient to compensate for their negative EV). but you could theoretically add some breakeven hands to your mix and still increase your BB/opportunity because of the metagame

FWIW, I just checked my old db, 50k hands from the second half of 2004.

winning 0.104BB/opportunity on a paltry 23% attempts, but with a whopping 20.3% no flop.

Must just be variance, because I think if anything the games have gotten tighter, not looser.
