1010 facing raise from UTG
I was wondering what you guys do here? I feel like calling is bad but I am not sure if I like pushing that much either.

No read huh?
I might push here too much. I think it might be best to push if you have seen him do anything squirrely and fold if you haven't. |

Re: 1010 facing raise from UTG
Hero makes it t350? I think that's a very nice bet amount, here, allowing you to fold to BB push, but no one else's. Just an idea.
I don't think calling is that bad either, especially with the almighty position on your side. |

hmm that raise to 350 might not be a bad idea. How does everyone else feel about it?

Re: 1010 facing raise from UTG
I like it. Given your stack size its one of the few times that raising back less than all in makes good sense at this blind level. As long as you have determined a plan of action to his push (FOLD) before you make the raise I like it the line.
That being said I make that play, well, never. I push back here with TT probably 70% of the time and fold the other 30%. My game has more holes than I care to admit. |

Seems kinda risky that he will just say to hell with it and push his 44 or A5 unless you know he is tight.

Re: 1010 facing raise from UTG
I hate reraising a UTG raise with 10s. This is a definite call for me.

I agree that it may be risky but if you call are you just dropping it when overs hit and he bets?

Re: 1010 facing raise from UTG
A UTG raise of 3.5xBB usually means something pretty big, so big that he is hoping to get called. There's no way I push back at that, I'm not ready to go all-in at this point in the tournament on 10-10, which is very likely where you will find yourself.
I think calling and folding are both decent plays here. I'd fold more often than call if I don't have any particular read. |

Re: 1010 facing raise from UTG
Without a read, I'm folding this 100% of the time. I know this sounds too tight, but...
1. Calling and seeing a flop OOP with ~50% chance of having an overcard showing doesn't excite me a lot. 2. Even when you get a safe flop, you still have the chance of being against a higher PP or a guy that flops some sort of draw (like flush + overcards) and ends up calling you. I think you're better off saving the aggression for later. P.S.: It's still interesting how this is an auto-push for me in an MTT... |
