i wouldnt go so far as to question his sexuality, but it surprised the hell out of me. the children's author is a side of phil i've never fathomed.

watching that last hand play out in real time vs johnny chan, it occured to me how close the phil we know was to be completely different...

he had 99 vs a7s on a KTKQ board... river ended up being a 6 tho

if johnny chan doubles through phil there and wins it all later, just imagine how different things would be today...

I hate to wave the Phil flag, but thats not really fair. He has done a lot more than just win that one.

Ya, I picked up one of his books the other day: "Sesame drowns on 5th Street." But then I put it down and picked up "Clifford the Big Red 3-to-1 Dog" cause it is much funnier.

yes he has a total of 9 bracelets. but think of how he obsesses over that main event victory... his constant reference to "black nines," etc etc... "best player in the world" nonsense... there's no way he could stake a claim to be the "best player ever" without that main event victory in 1989

i think it would have totally changed all things "phil"

I posted the same thread about 2 months ago. I could not get any info on phil's children's books.

on the first hand phil hellmuth is involved in, the announcer's first tidbit of info about him is "Phil writes children's books in his spare time"

[/ QUOTE ]

It's true - my personal favorite is "Clifford the Big Red 3-to-1 Dog".

funniest thing i've read on here in weeks.
