Hand 1: open-raising a small pair in this position isn't a disaster... You have to let go on the flop though.
Hand 2: raising 77 UTG is a bit much... I'd just limp here. Nice check-raise bluff on the flop. I'd just bet out, but your line worked fine I guess. Edit: what's up with these cool avatars?
