Re: Please tell me I played this right
[ QUOTE ]
I understand that it is very strong HU but I do not believe it is very strong HU against someone who has raised PF. Also... So in response to Dave do you always 3-bet someone with A/Qs? [/ QUOTE ] There is almost never an always in poker. (Does that sentence even make sense?) |

Re: Please tell me I played this right
Our equity with AQs vs. (AA-99, ATs+, AJo+, KQs, KQo) is ~51% (ala poker stove, I can't figure out where it saves the log to paste the actual numbers)
While this equity is thin, the possibility of having the button/position, better postflop play, and people raising random/crappy hands UTG make this a 3bet IMO. |

Re: Please tell me I played this right
Either fold or reraise preflop, cold-calling is bad.
With implied odds you can draw to ~4.5 outs on the flop and on the turn with a flushdraw added you can call for sure. I would cap the river though, he has more often trip 4s and doesn't believe your BDF than a boat. |

Re: Please tell me I played this right
I don't mind the pf cold call since your hand does play well multiway. Raising could be best, but not by as much as people are saying.

3-betting gives you a chance to go HU with UTG. AQs is a very strong hand heads up. [/ QUOTE ] Let's say we 3-bet pf, BB folds and UTG caps. Is everybody still calling the flop? |

That is all the more reason to raise preflop. You are WAAAAY ahead of 42s, so you must punish him. |

Re: Please tell me I played this right
For those who just read SSHE and base their play off that, yes its a good book, no it isnt a cult. I like the 3 bet here putting the hand HU, then a turn raise for a freebie. No way im dropping AQs here to some unknown, at this level I know people who cap Kjo and we have noooo read on villan. I dont think your looking at a 3 bet turn, but it will be a +1/-1 situation depending on if you pan out or not, I think the flush draw is solid, and the A, and Q are likely untainetd. Who on here wouldnt raise with JJ-99 preflop in that guys position? And were a much tighter group than the ave low limit idiot.

Re: Please tell me I played this right
Well, if you really want to get technical about it...a call here would be better than a reraise because it will not scare away the 42s moron as much as a reraise will. AQs is a huge favorite against 42s preflop isn't it? I guess we want him in. I'd hate to play against a 42 on a board with 2 4's on it though...so I guess a reraise will reduce the number of suckouts. Eh, I don't think I really know which move is better preflop yet.
