Tom Cruise did that to himself by being a demonstrative loudmouth not only about his ridiculous and possibly (probably) fabricated relationship with Katie Holmes, but also by demonizing women who suffer from a legitimate disease. He went from being a respected and popular actor to being a joke on a t-shirt in Abercrombie in a couple of months. Even the media can't be blamed for that one.

If I practiced a 'religion' that said my body was infested with the souls of people who were blown out of a volcano 75 million years ago, I wouldn't say much about it either.
