Re: Have you been trespassed? Questions!!!!
Back when I used to follow the blackjack forums, Barbary Coast was known as the most paranoid casino regarding card counters. They were notorious for barring low rolling counters and sometimes even barring people just for using correnct basic strategy. It looks like they haven't changed. A lot of casinos would ignore a 5 to 25 counter, or just start shuffling up on him, unless he played 40 hours a week and counted out loud.

however you'd say they don't use griffin, rather just internal databases? [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say that. They're cheap bastids. That's what I said. That said, BC is my favorite place to stay on the Strip. Cheap, nice enough room with a view of the Bellagio fountains. Building is small enough that it's very easy to get to the room. You just don't count cards in their casino. |

Re: Have you been trespassed? Questions!!!!
Facial Recognition Systems are not nearly as effective as many think. There is currently no system that scans everyone who walks into a casino. If the eye decides to run the FRS on you they will only get a group of several possible matches. FRS cannot currently identify anyone positively.

Re: Have you been trespassed? Questions!!!!
Generally if you have been trespassed you can get away with going back if you wait several months and then avoid the BJ pits and hope you don't get noticed by anyone who remembers you or cares. This is especially true at a group like Coast who backs off lots of counters. Since your friend pissed them off so much that they actually 86'd a nickel counter this may not work for him. Technically if they invite you back with a mailer the trespassing is voided, but practically if they identify you they will just trespass you again. There is no real legal risk to going back for a buffet or what ever because Metro making an arrest of a trespassed card counter is almost an impossibility, especially if a guy isn't even at the tables.
Let me guess, Sun Coast, right? |

The place is totally outclassed on that section of the Strip. |

[/ QUOTE ] Absolutely confident. First if you have been trespassed and are discovered the casino must first ask you to leave. If you do leave there is no problem. Metro would only get involved if you refused to leave or became disruptive or belligerent. If a casino recognized you and called Metro and asked them to over and cite you the cop would laugh at them. It's only a misdemeanor. No, there is not really any kind of legal action you can take to have trespass reversed. There isn't any kinf of appeal process or anything [ QUOTE ] Quote: Let me guess, Sun Coast, right? yep............................................... . what a game thought rite? [/ QUOTE ] Well, it depends on your definition of a good game. In technical terms (rules, pen) it's a great game, but tolerance is just as important. By the time you factor in travel time all the way out there and being allowed to play for 30-45 minutes before they bounce you, is it really worth more per hour than the good shoe games on the strip? |

Re: Have you been trespassed? Questions!!!!
Doesn't surprise me if its a Coast casino. I was losing pretty heavily at one table, moved to a back table with the double deck. I lost about 150 up front, and brought my remaning 50 behind. I got up to 75, and decided to go "all in" on the next hand. I hit a blackjack. I got the evil eye from the pit boss the rest of the time. He then made his presence known, and I asked him to wish me luck. He proceeded to tell me I didn't need any more luck. I told him if I had enough luck, he could pay me the rest of the money I lost with all the luck I had.
Moral of the story- do not win at the Coast Casinos. The only way to ever win at blackjack, even short term, is by cheating. |
