( lost 75 BB over 300 hands then won over 200 BB in 600 hands in the same session... swings like that can happen, and longer term swing happen as well.) [/ QUOTE ] Now that is insane. |

[/ QUOTE ] Swings like that can happen every 3rd solar eclipse - that is unreal. Of course it's beatable - you give up 2BB/100 in rake and 2/4 is MORE beatable but of course it's batable. |

Re: Is Low-Limit beatable?
It sucks when your AA loses you $10 or so (1/2) a couple times in a row to a donk who hits his gutshot on the river, but that 3rd time, when the 2 idiots drawing to that gutshot miss, and the other 3 idiots all calling down w/ middle/bottom pair don't hit their other card, scooping that $30+ pot makes it well worth it. If you track long enough, you'll see that your big hands make big money, just like they're supposed to.

Re: Is Low-Limit beatable?
Online poker is very beatable. I just had a terrible 2 week swing on 2/4 myself, but I'm halfway back to the black so yes the swings hurt but correct play = profit.
But I don't think all brick and mortar games are profitable. (I know, wrong forum, but humor me.) I play a $4/$8 at the Cherokee in Oklahoma and the rake's between 10 and 12 percent per hand. Once you add in tips, I don't think the game has a very viable winrate, even with all the fish. Online, though, the rake's 5 percent or less. Very doable. |

I got to the boss at the end of stage 4 but he kicked the [censored] out of me. I've been posting poker hands here ever since trying to deal with the pain that just won't go away.

Re: Is Low-Limit beatable?
The deck literally started smacking me in da mouf. I flopped like 6 boats in 2 orbits, had AK go like 9/9, had AA 12 times in those 600 hands (went 11/12), etc, etc. It was unreal, never had anything that drastic before, and never expect to again. All the same, huge swings can happen.
