Default 66 - I played this poorly, didn\'t I?

I'm pretty sure I should have folded on the flop, if not pre-flop (i was swayed into calling partly by the poster on MP6), but all suggestions gratefully received.

Pokstars $2-4 9-handed, no reads on players. MP6 posts $2

MP1 folds, Hero MP2 (6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]) calls, MP3 calls, MP4 calls, MP5 folds, MP6 (poster) checks, Button raises, SB calls, BB folds, Hero calls, MP3 calls, MP4 calls, MP6 folds

Flop: (5-handed, 6BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

checked round to Button (original raiser), who bets. SB calls, Hero calls, MP3 folds, MP4 calls.

Turn: (4-handed 8BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Checked to button, who bets, and all 3 call

River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Checked to button, who bets. SB calls, Hero folds, MP3 check-raises, button 3 bets, SB folds, MP3 calls

total pot 19BB

If you are going to proceed on the flop you need to make an effort to protect your hand. A check-raise seems like it might be right here.

Calling the flop is bad here as you have little chance of improving and calling does nothing to increase your chance of holding up.

With no table info at low limits, I limp here preflop.

Raise the flop when it gets back to you. Since you didn't, it looks like you were probably right to call the turn (at least 9:1, probably 11:1 with the family coming along, with 5-6 outs, good implied odds with any of your outs except maybe the 5h) Ick, really. Just raise the flop and avoid this.

You shouldn't fold this preflop. And on the flop a lead bet or a c/r is a good play. If you opt for the c/r, you must lead the turn. However, if you get raised you should probably let it go.

Don't just call passively. If you lead the flop and get raised, you may be able to let it go as well. Varying between these moves depends on the player. The lead works better for a passive player, the c/r for an aggressive.
