Default resteal push

I wasn't a big fan of resteal raise but I decided to try a few after reading a few posts lately. What do you think about this one? I didn't notice anything to note about the villian.

$11
Level:6 Blinds(100/200)
Seat 2 is the button
Total number of players : 4
Seat 2: Jacko159 ( $2245 )
Seat 4: Helgy ( $2030 )
Seat 6: HERO ( $2075 )
Seat 10: kgw37 ( $1650 )

Dealt to HERO [ 2d 2h ]
kgw37 folds.
Jacko159 raises [400].
Helgy folds.
HERO is all-In [1875]

perfect, also consider a stop-n-go or stop-n-check raise (my personal fav)...i think you should at least be calling this, pretty strong had vs. what could easily by a hand full of air

tho from your post, i get the feeling you may be trying to push-steal a bit too often...this is a tool to be used sparingly, don't go overboard.

and also your hand has value...a pure re-steal would be:

$11
Level:6 Blinds(100/200)
Seat 2 is the button
Total number of players : 4
Seat 2: Jacko159 ( $2245 )
Seat 4: Helgy ( $2030 )
Seat 6: HERO ( $2075 )
Seat 10: kgw37 ( $1650 )

Dealt to HERO [ 7d 2h ]
kgw37 folds.
Jacko159 raises [400].
Helgy folds.
HERO is all-In [1875]

Also i prefer this move from the SB

Degen, what are the conditions for a re-steal all-in? I usually pull this if the button has stolen blinds with half-stack or 3x BB raises more than twice in a row, particularly if the blinds have just gone up.

Specifically, what are decent positions and hands? Does the hand even matter?

sorry missed this...

I think you are going way overboard with the idea. Doing it 'usually' when they steal more than twice in a row is not a good thing to be doing. Restealing is not that much of a tool in a SNG because of the small stacks, people usually call your pushes because they are so pot committed.

Also not that the only times i'll typically steal a 3rd consecutive time is with a big hand, as people are opening up their ranges a lot...

i never like a resteal if i haven't noticed that a villain is pretty aggro.

also, just think about how happy the other two guys are to see you reraise all-in on the bubble when all the stacks are pretty even. you (and the pfr'er) are losing in the amount that those guys are happy.

btw, i like a resteal with 22 infinitely better than with 72.

You are supposed to resteal from people who are chronic raisers of your BB or weak tight players who will fold to OTP pushes on the bubble.

Since you did not "notice anything to note about the villian" you are basically throwing your chips into the pot blind hoping for the best.

I dislike this without a read.

EDIT: Of course deuces have value and I would push back at him regardless. I didn't even look at what hand you had when I posted this. If you are pushing back at him with rags though my previous post stands

I don't like an attempt to resteal here unless you have a very good read. Even then, I'd be hesitant.

I like the stop and go. 400 chip post-flop raise regardless of flop. See what happens. Probably check/fold if it gets called. You lose, you still have 1475 chips, plenty to work with and still get ITM or better. Infinitely better than attempting a resteal, getting called, and losing a little better than coin flip or being a 4.5:1 dog to 33s or better.

Betting out 400 on the flop and folding to a raise is an awful line imo.
