I checked the flop because I didn't think that flop would be checked through given the amount of people seeing the flop and the way the table was playing. I was quite surprised to see it checked through. Other than that...

WA/WB situation. After turn raise and two callers, got to be thinking someone might have a 5. When river is a brick, because it isn't an A/K/spade, I check here looking to call a reasonable sized bet. A5 is a logical hand here and would explain a check on the flop. Check river looking to call a bet. A made full house will value bet and not push, so you save some chips if you are behind.

[/ QUOTE ]I was thinking that one had the five and the other had a weak Ace thinking the fives helped his kicker; given the board, I thought I had a decent shot to split the pot with the other five and have the Ace go away or pay us both off. I bet the river as I did because UTG only had $24+ left so I wanted to commit him or get him to fold.

Pot the flop. And UTG called a bet (from a position which was likely to slowplay the flop) and a raise (from a position that was likely to slowplay the flop) cold. He has a monster.
