Nate Silver breaks down the Manny deal, which not surprisingly (IMO) was pretty much a wash. The sox being in a pennant race is probably the main reason manny is still here.

I saw Manny talk about the non-deal on TV yesterday. It's amazing such a dimwitted person could be such a great ballplayer, but then again, we have the more public example of Joe Morgan.

A morning radio show in my area played back that interview. They counted and he said the word "man" nine times in 15 seconds. Think about that.

I read a portion of the transcript on SC and I thought it was pretty hilarious how he randomly threw the sentence "I'm a gangster" into the interview within no relevant context.

ditto. hopefull with raffy being caught cheating today, people will lay off the guy. i like in one of his interviews when he says "manny being manny" lol!

well i didnt 'want' him traded, however i could/can certainly see the benefits of him being traded. like, if the mets included heilman in the deal i would have WANTED them to make it.
