I think you should purchase Small Stakes Hold'em. It's a perfect book for your situation and you'll probably enjoy it. It's not the easiest read but it's full of usefull information that I think would help.

I knew you had to be playing in Michigan when you described that rake. Greektown and Motorcity is 10% up to $5 as well, plus a $1 for the bad beat jackpot and don't forget dealer tips. |

Re: I need help... losing 3/6 Live
If the rake is beatable, then its only barely beatable. This means you could play winning poker 8hrs a day for a yr and still be a net loser if you ran slightly bad..
Find a lower rake game if you are looking to make money. |

Re: I need help... losing 3/6 Live
If you're having problems with super-loose players calling down in big pots, you may need to do more aggressive maneuvers to eliminate players.
Check-raise the flop in EP. I sometimes check the flop with pocket As/TPTK or just smooth call in late position in order to raise or re-raise the turn expressly to eliminate players in a big pot. You give them a cheap turn card (that they would normally call with anyway) to give them no chance to outdraw you on the river. This is mentioned in SSHE and HEFAP. |

Are you playing at Greektown? [/ QUOTE ] I played there on a Friday night two weekends ago. In a 5/10 game that was like watching paint dry. So I joined my friend in a 3/6 game that was very loose and got killed to the tune of $240. Variance. |
