The board was raggedy, and the river bet wasnt called. The tight player folded on the river when a J hit. I asked him what he had, and he claims to have had 1010. I gave him QQ at least. There was one player allin, so the 3 bettor had to show for the main pot, and he did indeed have AA. The loosey flashed 57s on the river when he mucked, as he missed hit backdoor flush.
In today's loose aggressive mid limit games, i find it very hard to fold AK preflop. People overplay all sorts of hands, AQ and small/medium pairs being likely suspects. In retrospect, it was a great fold, but i think its -EV in the long run Vitaly |

"I wouldn't put the "very tight player" who cold calls 3 bets in position on AA." i see this all the time with AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AKs, etc in the hands of very tight players. they think they are being clever. or cautious. or both. you and i know they are retarded, but they dont know that. and they probably never will. [/ QUOTE ] I was expecting to see JJ in the hands of the very tight player, TT isn't that much of a surprise though. I don't see how we've got such a range when a tight player 3-bets us PF and a LAG caps it that we're folding AK though. I'd love to see it. Obviously if tighty only 3-bets us with QQ+ it's closer, but do we never get 3-bet by AK, TT+ as well? Rob |

Re: a fold ive never seen before
I agree. Online not so sure its a great fold, but live I think so. Ive only played live a handful of times, but anytime there was ever a threebet and it wasnt coming from me, usually meant AKo was in a lot of trouble.
Now online, being aggressive game as it is...Im not so sure I fold it. |
