I notice that at no time did you ever mention the dealer calling the floor (the ONLY thing that can be done here, and should be done INSTANTLY). I also noticed that you never said anything about calling the floor. CALL THE FRIGGIN' FLOOR ALREADY. RIGHT AWAY. Then you and the other player are exposing your hands, claiming the pot, etc before the floor arrives, majorly compounding this problem.

Dealers don't make decisions, they call the floor. There are many rooms where this dealer would have been written up for not calling the floor here.

And you might have gotten your money had you insisted on the dealer immediately calling the floor before things got out of hand.

For some reason, I'm just not seeing what you're getting at here Al. Could you explain that in a simpler context?

I think you played it fine, btw. Waiting for someone to catch up or bluff you can be the only way to get paid when you make a monster.

Because obviously he'd put the OP on trips if he bets out on the flop since everyone else in the world plays trips like that...

It doesn't suprise me anymore how much action I get when I bet out on the flop with great hands.

Where I am working, if any dealer made a decision like that without calling the floor, the dealer would be fired, no questions asked.

Dealers dont' make decisions - ever.
