Default Beware of Interpoker!

Seems to be my week for getting screwed by poker sites.

I opened an account a few weeks ago with Interpoker. I needed to take $4000 off today so I went to the cashout screen to withdraw to my neteller account. The cashout process asked me for a pin number. I had no idea what this pin number was but it wouldn't let me continue so I rang Interpoker.

Apparently when you open an account using neteller they send you a PIN number by post which you need before you can withdraw. Unlike every other site which seems to believe that the existing neteller secure ID is sufficient. Unless you receive this mail, your money is stuck on the site and you cannot withraw it. They explained they sent the PIN number 17 days ago and it normally takes 5-7 business days to arrive. They said they would send the PIN number by post again and I could not have my money until I had the PIN number.

This is most ridiculous process I have ever encountered. Effectively they have my $4000 and refuse to return it to me until they choose to send me a PIN number which doesn't mysteriously get lost in the post.

They are based in Cyprus. Do I have any legal recourse because it seems they have my $4000 and refuse to return it, which I view as theft?

I am not after sympathy, I am after information and I also want to warn other people about the situation if they deposit with Interpoker.

My pin came a week or two after my initial deposit. I have cashed out 2 or 3 times to date, and the money was in my account in about 12 hrs.

This has been Standard Operating Procedure for InterPoker and Nearly ALL the Crypologic sites since I signed up with several of them 2 years ago. They are not ripping you have, they just have different policies / "security measures" than other sites. Just be patient and things will work out.

As a side note, be sure to read the T&Cs when signing up for a site. This is clearly stated in them and on-screen when you complete the sign-up process.

Why would you put that kind of money into a site without doing some basic research for the readily available information. 8 out of the 10 cryptologic sites utilize ECash Direct for cashiering - and all 8 of these require a pin number to cash out - with a different pin number for each site. Once you receive your pin cashouts are painless and relatively quick. Do your homework.

Interpoker/Intercasino is a well-known, well-respected site. Don't worry they didn't steal your $4000, they'll send you your pin and everything will be fine.

Yes. Copied from their web site:

A unique permanent PIN number will be e-mailed to you within one working day of registration. This PIN number will enable you to withdraw and transfer money to and from your account.

I changed Neteller accounts because I was using euro's as currency in the old one. So I got a new Neteller account.

Ecash won't let me withdraw to my new Neteller account. They simply refuse to let me withdraw to another Neteller account than the one I made my initial deposit with.

I called them and they told me the only way I could get my money was to withdraw by cheque. So now there's a $1000 cheque in the mail somewhere, I hope it finds its way to me allright.

They just like regular mail over there. It's a strange thing.
