PLO hand, misplayed on what streets?
2/4 PLO game. Pretty tight game except for loose aggressive in small blind. Its folded to me on the button with Ah6hKsQs. I make it $14 to go. The small blind calls, the BB raises all in to $31. We both call.
Flop is 7h8c9s. SB checks, I check. Turn is Kh (7h8c9s). SB bets $72, and I call (220 remaining in my stack, he has me covered). River is an offsuit 4. SB bets $42 and I fold. Comments? I'm really lost on this one. |

Re: PLO hand, misplayed on what streets?
i would have reraised before the flop and hope to play headup with the all in. if not you are still in great shape with position.
on the end who knows. if he is goofy, call and see what he has. |

Re: PLO hand, misplayed on what streets?
Here's how I read it.
A) he had the nuts and slowplayed it hoping for a checkraise. Since the board was rainbow, he figured giving a free card was safe if no one bet. B) he had 6T or 56 and wasn't sure if it was good. After everyone checked the flop he bet the turn to protect his hand and hoped a set of Ks would call on his river bet. In my opinion this is a horrible play. Betting out on the flop and folding to a raise is his best play with a non-nut str8. But since I have no knowledge of this play, it's certainly a possibility. I think a pure bluff or a set is out of the question. Bluffing is not something you can do on that board, unless he's a complete maniac. A lot of "loose-aggressives" (myself included) only play that way on earlier streets in order to get their big bets called on later streets. Very few PLO players bet pot constantly on late streets unless they have a hand. Also, if he had a set, he would've been scared to bet the river seeing as the only hand that he beats and may get folded is a set of Ks. |
