Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
(converter not working so I had to improvise)
Button $33 SB $14 BB Hero $40 Party Poker (6 max, 4 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold. button limps, SB completes, Hero raise to .50,butoon calls .5, SB raises to 1.75, Hero calls, BB calls (Pot $7)Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) . SB bets 1, Hero calls, Button calls (pot $10) Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) . SB bets 1, hero calss, BB calls (pot 13) River: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets 3, Hero raises 30, BB folds, SB calls $7 (all-in) Final Pot: Results in white below: SB has Kd Ah (two pair, kings and eights). Hero has 8d 8c (four of a kind, eights). Button has (four of a kind, eights). Outcome: As soon as I bet $30 on the river I realized what a stupid bet that was. I shouldve raised just slighlty less than putting the shortsatcked SB all in, so about $6. Here's why: SB was already comitted to the pot. He ws calling any bet, and would have to go all in here for $1 more on top of my raise. However, the smaller bet would be likely to entice a call from the Button as well, and when the SB raises it another $1 to go all in the betting is reopened. THEN shouldve put BB all in as well. He would be more likely to call now, and even if he folds I still make the extra $6. (btw, after the hand BB said he folded a flsuh) Now if I can just flop quads again... |

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
Your positions are messed up throughout the hand.

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
So you both had quad eights... What's so spectacular about that?

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
the hand converter is all screwed up. positions are wrong and the results are wrong.. we both couldnt have quad 8's obviously.

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
betting would NOT have been reopened. his push is a $1 raise, which would not be a full legal raise.
also, raise the flop...take control from the gimp that is screwing up your mojo with the min-bets. also, your minraise preflop sucks. |

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
why would that not be a legal full raise?
yes, preflop raise was weak, just trying to build a pot. and i called rather than raise the flop because i wanted to keep both players around as long as possible. anyone that is gonna stick around can only improve. why chase them out now? |

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
There is a difference between chasing them out and getting value for your hand.

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
just so you know... just remove the word texas from your pasted hand.. then convert.. works fine.
e.g. $50 NL Texas Hold'em - etc etc.... replace with $50 NL Hold'em - etc etc |

Re: Flopped nuts. made mistake on river
One of these sites... either Prima or Party used to (maybe still) allow you to raise an incomplete raise/bet.
Fun! |
