David Sklansky\'s Computer Program--A Question
In Tournament Poker For Advanced Players, David Sklansky indicates that he has "a computer program that lets you punch in one hand against another or one specified hand against one random hand." Does anyone know the name and retailer of this particular program? He gives as an illustration that 23 has a 32% chance of beating 2 random cards.
Thanks! |

Re: David Sklansky\'s Computer Program--A Question
The The Pokalyzer does this and much more. You can download a fully functional trial version for free, registration is $29. It also has a data table built from analysing 700 billion hands which shows how any starting hand performs against any other starting hand.

Re: David Sklansky\'s Computer Program--A Question
Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't see any way to run a specific hand against a random hand. This is what the poster wanted.

Re: David Sklansky\'s Computer Program--A Question
I presume you are talking about the Pokalyzer?
Click "Heads Up" on the main screen. This lists the 169 possible starting hands together with the chance of each hand winning against an unknown hand. In this sense, the hand's chance against an unknown hand is the average of its chances against all other hands with all possible board combinations. The software uses a data table containing all these figures. The data table was built by running every possible heads up situation with every possible flop (350 billion combinations, 700 billion hands analysed/recorded) The figures are listed for each starting hand, e.g. AA 85.20% KK 82.40% QQ 79.93% JJ 77.47% .. .. .. 62offsuit 34.08% 42offsuit 33.20% 32offsuit 32.30% In addition you can double click any starting hand and the program lists that hand's chances against each of the 1,225 possible combinations. Hopefully this is what the poster wanted. If not I apologise for getting the wrong end of the stick . |

Re: David Sklansky\'s Computer Program--A Question
Select AA. The results will be the same for all possible combinations of the four available aces.
