If you have just as big an edge in all the games you listed, play 20-40 as that is the biggest game

So assuming skill level is equal, you will make more money, at a $20-$40 limit game than a $5-$10 NL game?

Believe it or not there are some very different skills between NL and limit. It depends what you are better at. Also you hadnt mentioned 5-10 NL in the original post. From my experience 5-10 NL plays slightly bigger than most 20-40 games. You have to look at your stats and see what you are better at (as you said).
I like NL, and I think there is less burnout, as it is less mechanical than limit, and there are more variables to consider which make it more fun/challenging but also a little harder.
Hope that helps...

And there are very different skills between ring games and STTs, and between STTs and MTTs. And there are very different levels of variance between all these games. You have to decide what your strengths and weaknesses are, how much variance you can tolerate, what fits your bankroll, etc., and make the best choice for yourself.

All of these factors are discussed regularly in the forums devoted to each style of game. Reading through old threads can give you a ton of information and valuable opinions.
