worst beat ive ever seen
I am now set in my belief that holdem helps stupid players. Tonight I was playing and I had A-9 off suit. The flop hits A diamonds, 2 diamonds, 5 hearts. I bet 200, my opponent folds, another opponent folds but then a second later decides to put me all in to "get the game moving." He was a new player so I was confident I have him beat. I was in 2nd last chip position, or else I would have let him fold to take the blinds, but I needed chips and I KNEW I had him dominated because he has no idea how to play. I call, he has Queen 4, only one diamond. I laugh at him because he has no pair and no draw. The river shows a 3 of diamonds, giving him a closed straight and flush draw. I'm still about 75% to win so I'm not nervous. The river shows a 5 of clubs, giving him the A-5 straight. I was speechless and still am 3 hours later.
I'm thinking of hanging up my poker for good now, thats how damaging this was. |

cant believe you let the player back in after he folded.. and if you keep on putting in bad beats on this form you will get reemed by other players on this form..

You got a guy all in in a situation where you are ~78% to win. Good job, and do NOT complain about a hand like that in future. I guarantee you that many many other players here have seen much worse than that. |

Re: worst beat ive ever seen
Man I just busted out of a SNG when I held 22 and the flop came 24J. I went all in with $1400 got called by Q9 and watched him catch T8 for the straight busting me out. Thats much worse. Keep on Keepin on
(I realize this is home poker forum and this is about online play but whatever) |

Re: worst beat ive ever seen
I had black aces in a $10 SNG with 3 players left. I was teh short stack, raised 4xBB, leaving myself 10x to push on the flop. One caller.
Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], I push, opponent calls and shows me K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I'm thinking he's a moron and I'm going to double up. Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] River: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Me: Busted |

Re: worst beat ive ever seen
That's nothing. I only play twice a month live with a few friends, but I've seen 2 people go all-in on a 665 flop, one holding 55 and the other holding AJ, only to have the turn and river both be 6s, giving AJ the higher quads kicker. The next month, we had AK and AQ go all-in on the AKQ flop, only to have the AQ hit the J and 10 of his suit to get a Royal ....

cant believe you let the player back in after he folded. [/ QUOTE ] That was my very first thought. Why would you let a player back in after he folded? THAT'S the mistake, not that he played cards he shouldn't have. |

Re: worst beat ive ever seen
You wanna hear a bad beat? I'm at Binions in vegas in a 120 tourney.
I call a 300 chip bet with 88. flop comes 5 8 J. I go all in. I'ts down to me and one other. He calls my all in. He has trip 5's. I have trip 8's. I couldn't be happier. He hit's his ONE OUTER 5 on the river to make quads. THAT'S a bad beat |

Re: worst beat ive ever seen
Worst I've seen was in a STT at UB. Thankfully I had folded so wasn't directly involved in the hand. (Sorry for mentioning an online event in the Home forum.)
blinds are 100/200 MP has 800 chips left and limps in with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB has 4000 chips with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] MP has a straight flush and goes all in. BB calls. Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB makes his higher straight flush. River: irrelevant That's the worst I've seen. Busted aces, trips, and full-houses and even quads can't be as agonizing as that. |
