Default PLO8 - Flopping Big Draw

Really enjoying O8, especially PL.

Question, when out of position and flopping a big draw, like nut, nut, with 3-5 players behind, how should this usually be played?

Little info on the players - say average.

Thanks.

Pretty straightforward here. Bet pot on flop. If raised, call, as your most likely against a set or top 2. If you miss the turn, call a bet. If you hit the turn, bet pot because you are now freerolling if you hit your low and are way ahead if you hit your flush. The key is to never slowplay a hand in this game unless a free card doesnt hurt you, which are only a few situations (steel wheel, nut low and boat, etc..). Trying to get cute and build a pot by making a small bet on the flop is only a good idea if you have a one way low draw and want to keep everybody in. With a nut nut possible hand you want to take someones whole stack when they make a second best hand or quarter them when they have the same low as you, and the only way to do that is by building the pot up by betting the max. Don't worry, if he has a hand he's not going anywhere.

That is my main question, let others in who are drawing slim to dead or play straight forward and bet for value.

Thanks monster.

If you let 5 players who are drawing slim enter the pot, there are so many cards that can hurt you, it is not worth giving them a cheap shot at hitting. For example, you hold A [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] T [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] and the flop is 2 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] . You have a nut nut draw. the following cards hurt you on the turn: 3 aces, 3 3s, 2 6s, 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] ,T [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] , 3 Jacks, 3 Queens, 2 Kings. That's 19 cards out of 45. One or two opponents may be drawing slim, but 5 opponents collectively usually are not unless you have quads, aces full, or a str8 flush. But the most important reason you will make a pot bet on the flop is this: say you get one caller who has A3 with no reasonable hi draw and is going for low. On the turn a 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] hits helping nobody. You bet pot and he can't call, so you just semi-bluffed a decent pot. If he does call then you havce way more outs than him, and if your low hits then theres a good chance you have him quartered. Most players believe you cannot buy pots in this game; that you need the nuts to bet. That's not true. You can buy a ton of pots, but the key is to eliminate opponents and build the pot so you are able to make a decent sized bet which an opponent cannot call.
