Re: stupid question
Maybe (Probably?). I try not to bring it up often, I was just trying to provide a context for my rationale, not brag. I often feel singled out because of my bankground and try to downplay it in situations where it is irrelevant. I don't deny things have been easier for me, but its not like I'm trying to flaunt it or rub it in anyone's face.

Re: stupid question
For the same reason I am strictly a recreational house bowler, and do not typically go to regionals or PBA events, I would probably play the 15-30. Although that's a little different, since you can't make a living either way.
In fact, now that I think about it, I would really want to work up to the higher games. But I'll always be a part-time player so I probably have no business answering the question. NT |

Re: stupid question
if $ is the same for the high limits or middle limits, then it comes down to 2 factors. one is bankroll/tolerance. if I can't afford or deal with a bad run then it favors middle limits since it'll lead to me being less happy, possibly tilting, or playing less hours due to the stress. but if I could, then the experience of playing with better players in a game that requires me to think a lot deeper and harder will eventually help me win more money.

Re: stupid question
Perfection is never attainable, but striving for perfection yields excellence. Striving for excellence yields mediocrity.
I agree. I personally have no end-goal of being the best player ever. I do however have a goal of being the best player that I can be. If I play my best at the 2/4 limits so be it. If Im crushing the 1/2 at 3-4BB/100 but know that playing at 2/4 will push my game to a higher level of performance even though I am not crushing my opponents like I used to be, I will succumb to the challenge of it. For me it is all about personal improvement. Proving myself to myself. |

I would/will never be happy as long as there are players out there that are better than me. [/ QUOTE ] This sums it up for me, and it drives me nuts. |

Re: stupid question
U obviously can be the best at the table or in the world, but if ur only marginally better than the rest of the table ur not gonna make much. But, Im sure everyone knows this.
If u make the same at the higher limits as u do at the middle then just play alittle of both. That way u can satisfy ur ego knowing that u can beat the higher game when u feel like it and then play at the middles for less stress and so forth. Just a side note, IMO ego can be very detrimental to making money at poker. I always make it a point to check my ego at the door when im about to play. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |
