Default Playing unsuited connectors in the SB at a loose-passive table

Is this pre-flop call -EV? If so, how bad of a mistake do you think it is? Given the pre-flop call, what do you think of my play?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, CO raises, Hero calls, BB calls, MP2 calls.

Not pumping the pot here because my OESD is only 1-card, and there's a flush draw out there.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, MP2 calls, CO calls.

I think this is some rust showing... I like to stop & go when I believe the raiser was raising with a flush draw, given that I can chuck my hand to a raise. Here, I still have a pretty strong draw, so I think I should be playing this now purely as a drawing hand.

River: (9.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, MP2 raises, CO calls, Hero calls.

This should clearly be a check, but should I check/fold or check/call?

Final Pot: 15.50 BB

I don't like playing junk hands form the sb.
I think you should check/call the river. MP2 might be scared of the flush draw to bet his T before the river.

Article on unsuited connectors.

The article explains that you need at least 5 limpers to play an unsuited no-gap connector from the SB for half a bet. Your PF call is a losing play, and it's quite a big mistake.

The flop bet is fine, you've got enough opponents to bet even this weak hand for value.

The turn bet is bad. Your chance of improving to the best hand (by catching non [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] OESD cards or a 9) is only 17.3%. You're contributing 25% of the pot if everyone calls. In this case, BB folded so you're contributing 33% of the pot. This is very -EV.

I don't know what you're thinking on the river. I'd check/fold this. The only reason we continued in the first place was because of our draw, which missed. I don't think your 9s are good here often enough to call this.

Given that you bet, it's very safe to fold after MP2s raise.
